GIFT HOPE MGM 2021
Saturday, December 4 | 10 am – Noon | Cloverdale Park, 2415 W. Cloverdale Rd., Montgomery Rather than buying a new necktie or scarf for friends, family members, or co-workers (that, let's be real, they'll rarely use), rethink the traditional Christmas gift by giving them a better alternative – the gift of hope to someone in need. Gift Hope MGM, an alternative gift fair, exists to support 30 River Region nonprofits and to educate the community about the work these organizations do by hosting a Christmas-time event that allows people to purchase a variety of “gifts” in honor of a friend or loved one. These gifts don’t go under your tree, rather they help dozens of community organizations make a positive and tangible impact in lives all across the River Region by fulfilling specific needs suggested by area nonprofit. By supporting Gift Hope MGM, you are helping to fund specific needs of the Capital Area Adult Literacy Council and other organizations – for example, books and educational materials for adults who struggle with reading, a week’s worth of hot meals for an elderly couple in need, or one night’s shelter for a homeless family. (Gifts will be available at a variety of prices, starting at $5.) The “shopper” receives a card and envelope to complete and give to the gift recipient announcing the gift(s) in the recipient’s honor and the name and services of the designated nonprofit(s).
