Capital Area Adult Literacy Council

Opening a door to a world with literacy

Do you have 3 hours a week to teach someone how to read?

More info
For everyone, everywhere, literacy is, along with education in general, a basic human right... Literacy is, finally, the road to human progress and the means through which every man, woman and child can realize his or her full potential.
- Kofi Annan

Committed to individual empowerment and community improvement through literacy, the Capital Area Adult Literacy Council provides free literacy services to adult learners.

The Capital Area Adult Literacy Council
(CAALC) is a registered 501(c)(3) organization located in Montgomery, Alabama and is focused in literacy tutoring for adults over the age of 18. For many men and women throughout the Montgomery community, literacy is a luxury that they have never been able to enjoy. At CAALC, we strive to fix this problem by providing accessible literacy programs to local adults.
